How do I get new or different layer styles for each layer?

Right now I am trying to create a cube with letters etched into each face- but the inner shadow rotation effects both layers. How do I fix that?

A layer style is suppose to affect just that layer. It might be possible the style was copied to the other layer.

Is each side of the cube on its own layer?
