How do I remove chequered background from an image I have purchased from Adobe Stock?

The checks seem to actually be part of the image and do not disappear when I click on grid size 'none' in transparency settings. The image I purchased is supposed to be a png file.

Hi

This file comes in AI/EPS (vector) or JPEG (raster). It does not say PNG.

  • When you open the JPEG version, it is on one layer. You need to select the mug and add a layer mask.
  • When you open the AI file in Illustrator or other vector application, you can hide or delete the checkerboard pattern.
