How to add mathematical equations?

I would like to place some mathematical equations (created using a LaTeX system) on a Photoshop page as a vector object. How can this be done?

I have now done some experiments with Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop --- trying to copy and paste some equations from a *.dvi file (from LaTeX and being displayed on the screen). None of these handle the fonts in the clipboard file correctly (I can supply a screen shot of the results). However, if I do the same procedure (copy and paste) into Corel Draw or into PowerPoint it works fine (i.e., the fonts for the equations are recognized and the equations are in vector form).

Please tell me how I can accomplish this with Illustrator or InDesign or Photoshop. My application is the production of a textbook with mathematical equations.

I would be glad to supply the *.clp (clipboard file) containíng these equations.

Equation Editor is the name of Word's editor as well.

The professional version is MathType by Design Science.

Other equation(formula) editors were discussed in the InDesign forum.

I'm using MathType. Formulas are edited 'Wysiwyg' and transferred into

the host program mostly as EPS files.

In the past this program suffered occasionally from font problems, but

generally spoken, the data are compatible with Photoshop, InDesign,

Illustrator and Acrobat.

But my question was actually not about an equation editor. I use LaTeX based software to create and edit my mathematical equations. I do not need an equation editor.

I did find out that if I used the copy-and-paste capability of Windows (Vista 32-bit) for copying equations (displayed on the screen) that InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator all failed (incorrect results) and the pasted results obtained were all different. This means that these package are inconsistent in how they handle information stored in the clipboard.

I did find another way to copy-and-paste mathematical material which is as follows:

1) Create a PDF document that contains the mathematical material that I wish to put into these packages.

2) Copy-and-paste from the PDF document to these packages.

This works on my system!
