how to open images one by one and not in one window

how do I open images one by one and not in one window? Like it used to be in cs3. Opening up 100 images at a time normally and with the one wiondow where all open up at one its so confusing and make working EXTREMELY difficult. I just want them to open one by one ... please help this is urgent

Go to Photoshop>Preferences>Workspace and uncheck Open Documents as Tabs.

Since your on a mac you might also want to go to Window and click Application Frame to turn it off.
