how to use a t-shirt mockup template?

I just downloaded the free trial  PhotoShop CC and bought a t-shirt mockup template but I cannot see the template or know how to open it ?

Is it a *.psd file?

If not, what file type?

Did you download the template? Did you check your downloads folder?

This all depends on the template. As all templates are set up differently.

Look at the templates I used for this illustration.

The way these templates were set up... is that the image on the shirt was a smart layer.  So when I double clicked on the image layer, it would open up a new window with that graphic.  I then replaced the template logo to my graphic.  When I hit save the image on the template would change to my logo.

Same thing for the tags...  and even the picture frame.

But again this all depends on the template you downloaded.  Also make sure the template is unzipped!!!!!

Sometimes in these templates there is a layer where you can change the color of the shirt.  Sometimes that is separate from the image/logo layer, sometimes it is not.  You really have to play with each template to see how they are set up.

If you share the link to the template you are using we can toy with it and explain how that particular template works.
