How would you make half this image snow and the other sunny?

I’m hoping someone may be able to help or give an example on how I could make half this image appear to be snowing or cold and the other half to retain its summer look.

Initially, as the sun is more on the left of the image, I thought the right side should look like cold but I’m struggling to make the snow look realistic so I’ve decided to just make it look cold.

If anyone could explain how they would approach this, or even give a rough example I’d really appreciate it.Picture_54189-GB19_1053419 (1).jpg

For coloring a few Curves Layers should suffice, to fake snow some painting would be necessary but it may not come out realistically anyway …

The seeming authenticity of the final image depends upon finding a suitable snow image and then taking into account vantage point, weather and approximate time of day. It is best accomplished with advance-planning: making photographs of key parts of the same scene. In your case, no need to have the bathers in the snow photograph. That provides complete control via masking and a fair chance for seeming authenticity.

There are so many ways to approach this but I have a demo I do every year at conventions that includes using a Photoshop Winter ACTION.

There are a lot of super talented Action designers like Seven Styles or Eugene Design.

Why use an Action? Photoshop actions consist of a series of menu commands such as i.e. filters, image adjustments etc which can be recorded and played back.

So with only a few mouse clicks and in seconds you can get this result:

It's one way to do it.

And once you start down the path of Actions it's hard to go back

Here is a very rough example...
