Question

I can no longer copy and paste path segments in Photoshop 21.1

Is anyone else noticing this?  Newest 21.1 version of Photoshop, all updates applied, 2017 iMac fully loaded, no issues prior to this version.

Working with a path, select a segment, copy, and paste into a new path.  It doesn't paste the path segment, it pastes whatever pixels you had last selected (or copies the active pixel layer).  I've tried changing tools and still no luck.

I have the same problem. Select path segment, push cmd-c or menu "copy" and paste results in pasted layer pixels instead of path segment.

I found a workaround. Not convenient, but it seems to work. Do Cmd-x (Cut), then undo the cut, then paste. Cut/Undo/Paste.

Definitely a bug of some sort.

It works for me on win7 PS21.1.
How do you do copy, Ctrl+C or Menu->Edit->Copy?
Only the second method works on CS6, both on CC21.1.

    upd.
On CS6, it doesn’t work for me because I redefined the keys. Forgot))

With a path active, with the pen tool active,  I select a portion of the path by holding the cmd key to make the pen tool into the "direct selection" tool.  Cmd-C to copy, then create a new path to paste into, then Cmd-V.  This no longer pastes the path "chunk" that i've copied into the new path, it only duplicates whatever pixel layer is active (or the last pixel selection that was copied into the clipboard).

I've been using Photoshop for more than 25 years.

Check with direct use of the menu. Perhaps you have Cmd-C or not assigned to this menu, or someone intercepts this key.
