Image exports in greyscale

I have an image that I am trying to export to PNG when I do "export as" it discards all color information and is black/white. It seems like a simple setting that needs to be turned off or on, but after hours of searching online I'm shocked to find that no one else has encountered, this I can't find how to fix this.

The image is in color but exports as grey scale (black/white)

Even when I add "Embed Color Profile" it exports as a black/white Grey image, This also happens with "save as png" and "Quick Export as". Photoshop will not save this picture with color.

Before Export

Exporting (has turned Grey) Even when selecting "Embed Color Profile" the image exports grey.

"Embed Profile" must be checked for the full color management chain to be enabled. Not only in terms of the finished file, but also for the preview in the Export dialog.

This is converted into your monitor profile for display, but there has to be a document profile to convert from. That's why you need to embed.

However, I have noticed that this can hang for a while in the Export preview. Give it a few seconds.

How does the exported file look in Photoshop (with embedded profile)?

I still use "Save For Web" because "Export As" has been unreliable in a lot of ways, although I have the impression that most problems have been ironed out by now. The color managed preview is one of those things that took a long time to get implemented.
