image won't save as Jpeg

Somehow while working on photos today a setting changed.  I can no longer just save as a jpeg.

I've watched a few videos online.  No. I am not saving it as a 3D image.  Yes, it is at 8-bit.

I crop the image.  In the past I could hit close and it would save it as the JPG I want.
Now, It forces me to save it as a PSD.
If I flatten the PSD it will then allow me to save it as a JPG

1.  Why isn't there an easy "reset" button to get rid of changes I didn't do?
2.  Why can't I get through to a 1-800-number person for help?
3.  Why isn't there a video somewhere to assist me?

4.  Most importantly, how do I get this program to function like it did yesterday and since I purchased it years ago?

Checkmark "delete cropped pixels" in the Crop Tool Options at the top of your workspace, and it will save the image as a flat file so you can save it as a jpeg.

Ok in the crop tool maybe you have delete cropped pixels turned off as in my screen shot. If this is turned off it turns background layer to a editable layer and you have to flatten before saving as JPEG. So make sure in crop tool you have delete "delete Cropped Pixels" checked.

If the document has layers you must use save as and pull down file type Jpeg ot flatten the document first. If you use save as Photoshop will save a flay jpeg and revert the document beck to a layered document.
