New Here ,
Mar 09, 2019 Mar 09, 2019

I am a new graphic design student who is learning everyday. What I have not learned how to do is how to import font from my computer into Photoshop. I purchased  font folio essentials from adobe with my personal account. Now I cannot figure out how to get it from my computer to in photoshop. I believe my issue may be that I have a personal adobe account and also a school adobe account that is managed by my school. Please help because I am required to have these fonts and I would like to use them in a project I am working on now.

Here is the website for Adobe Font Folio with their phone number. It may be that you just copy them from the Fonts folder, but I don’t know because I never purchased this package. Post back if that works, but keep in mind that today is Saturday and they may or may not work on weekends.

Are you specifically using Adobe Font Folio Education Essentials 11 Student and Teacher Edition?

Photoshop works like all other Mac programs, in that Photoshop simply uses the same fonts that are installed in macOS. That means you don't have to install fonts "into" Photoshop. As long as you have installed (copied) the fonts into one of the standard Mac font locations in the system, all Mac applications including Photoshop should be able to see and use them.

Because there's nothing special in the way that Photoshop uses fonts, the next questions are:

  • Have you successfully installed the fonts on your Mac using the Adobe Font Folio installation instructions for Mac OS X, or did you run into a problem with those instructions?
  • Can you see the fonts in some Mac applications, no Mac applications, or all Mac applications except Photoshop?

If you can't make it work at the system level, the Help link at the bottom of the Adobe Font Folio web page suggests visiting the Adobe Type user forums.
