I would like to have the power to only install automatic updates on my terms. Is that possible?

Especially with regards to major releases.I know you can revert back to another version but I'd prefer updating at my convenience.

Thanks for any advice on this.Regards,Terry

On my computer, the Adobe CC app always alerts me when an upgrade is available.  Nothing happens unless I press the "Update" button.  It DOES operate on my terms by default.

With CC you choose when to update applications. When there is a major update, like we got last month, you have an option to instal the update without overwriting the current version. This option is somewhat hidden under advanced options. By default new updates overwrite current versions. Not everyone is happy with that, but the point is, if you pay attention you can run updates when and how you want to.

A business magazine reported that Adobe has something like 4 million customers using the CC system.  Forums like this, and others, attract and focus on users with unusual issues.  For a major update, if a few hundred have challenges, it remains a tiny risk for the other millions.

When there is an update, forums like this and others, will highlight unusual issues.  Those that delay their updates for a few weeks know exactly what to expect.

The most recent one is almost funny.  Users of an obscure internet ad blocker found it interfered with Photoshop.  Disabling the ad blocker quickly fixed it for most, if not all.

You say "this option is somewhat hidden under advanced options." Can you tell me where it's hidden so I can turn it off? Thank You.
