Hello everyone (and best wishes for the new year)
I'm encountering a problem for several weeks with Photoshop CC 2020 and previous versions (on PC)
In my C: > user > admin > AppData > Local > Temp folder, I have one and only one temp file of 34,9Go.
It has a name with a series of random numbers that change on each start, but the file remains the same and keep getting bigger.
Obviously I can't delete it while using Photoshop, and when I close the program the file disappears, so I can't see it in the folder. I tried CCleaner and other stuff like that to scan the PC but it didn't work.
I also tried to switch the scratch disk to C: to D:, I change some cache parameters in the program, and here again the problem remains. This temp file seems to don't want to disappear of himself.
It's starting to get worrying because my disk will soon be full because of this file.
Does anyone have a solution to force its deletion ? Thanks in advance for your help !

Hello r-bin, so sorry for the delay...
It worked !! Omg it worked ! I renamed the "adobe photoshop 2020 settings" in "adobe photoshop 2020 settings 2" (placed in the same folder), it created automatically a new "adobe ps 2020 settings" folder, and then... wow ! I now have a temp file of only 13GB instead of 40GB ! 😄 I don't know what kind of sorcery it is lol but it worked ! May I delete the previous folder without any risk of crash or something ?

Hello there i have a problem with my adobe photoshop program. Every thing is fine until I get into the editing part. It tends to make several temp files which takes up about 450Gb+. When I resize the images it takes a long time to complete and makes a big temp file. With the older versions of photoshop it wasn't like this is there anything you can do to help?

Photoshop always makes a temp file, known as a scratch disk file, while working. On large documents that can run to 100s of GB. That is normal and should be deleted on closure.
This is not new, it has always worked this way. The location is set by the scratch disk settings in Preferences.

Just stumbled onto this forum cause I had the same issue with that Photoshop Temp file. And my file was climbing to 40 GB as well (we should have had a battle to see whose file could waste more space in little time! Terrible idea. Though, curious...)
Anyway, just wanted to cheers this beer to for not only presenting a solution to not one, but two problems. The space-wasting file and preventing me to from pouring this beer all over this computer out of sheer frustration!
Cheers, r-bin!
