Question

Layer opacity doesn't update in real time

I ran into a problem after upgrading to the latest version of 2020 and can't find a solution.

After upgrading to version 2020, now when I turn the opacity of the layer, nothing changes until I release the slider. That is, it became inconvenient to dose the adjustment. This was not the case before the previous version.

And I noticed a strange feature. If the opacity of the layer to adjust the slider in the drop down box under the opacity of the layer changes are immediately reflected on the picture, that is all OK. But if you turn the opacity holding the left mouse button on the inscription "opacity" (as I used to do, as it is faster and easier), now every time release the button after setting the transparency, and only then can we see the result.

Accordingly, in any of the adjustment options, efficiency suffers. Before the update, everything was OK.

And the smoothest and most correct display of the opacity adjustment is now visible only when configured via Layer-Layer Style-Blending Options. Everything is displayed very accurately, quickly and correctly... Previously, this was the case with normal adjustment..

Can someone tell you how to solve this problem?

I tried it on two completely different computers - and on both PCs this problem is present.

Michael, I tried that on my computer, and it didn't help.

Within the Photoshop Preferences is a Performance tab. Does activating the Legacy Compositing option help?

I believe this is a bug, as it happens on my computer as well. Hopefully, Adobe will fix it soon.
