Liquify does no longer work in the latest Photoshop version

"The background settings prevent the preview from being displayed." 
(Die Hintergrundeinstellungen verhindern, dass die Vorschau angezeigt wird.).

That happens with every photo. How can I change these settings? Or is this a bug?

After I turned off "show backdrop" and turned on "show image" it worked (thanks to Pfaffenbichler).
