Lost presets and preferences with new photoshop update

Any way to retrieve lost presets? None of my presets or preferences saved in the latest update even though it has always done so in all the previuos updates. I uninstalled and installed an older version and now I have lost everything - custom shapes, color swatches etc. It's like a blank slate and have no idea how to restore. Anyone have any suggestions, I am desperate and need to get a ton of work done. Thank you!

Anyone else think these folders are just more time consuming than actually helpful? Why did Adobe do this????

Just did the same few minutes ago. The pain and frustration is real. Gonna drink for weeks.

I don't know if you tried this already but here is what worked for me. A fellow artist told me that i should look for *.kys or *.psp type of files on my system. If you still have those,  they should give you the location of the folder with your previous PS version settings. Grab those files and copy to the folder with your new PS. Mine looks like C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2020\Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings

Hope this helps
