Missing fonts from Photoshop CS5: Fontbook

Hi, I have had problems using Photoshop Type tools since updating my Mac to the operative system version Mojave, about a month ago. I have Photoshop CS5. Whenever I try to use the Type tool, Photoshop shots down immanently. All the other tools in Photoshop still works fine.

Earlier this week I got the notice «cannot find any fonts» (or something like that) after I press the Type tool button. After searching in Adobe Photoshop help, I found out that fonts for Photoshop can be found in Library - Fonts. My Library Fonts folder was empty. So I put all of my fonts from Fontbook in there manually. When I opened Photoshop again, and pressed the Type tool button, the program immediately started to shut down. Even when I opened the Character tool, the program shot down again. Why is this? Hope you can help.

Why is this?

Hi

Because you upgraded to an OS that Photoshop CS5 is not supported on, you can try this to see if it helps

When you go to Help > System Info, what version of CS5 do you have 12.0.0 or 12.0.4?

If anything is out of date, download and install the Adobe Application Manager

Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Macintosh : Adobe Application Manager

Then run Help > Updates.

If that does not work, have a look at our Type troubleshooting guide.

You can’t just keep running old apps on new macOS without expecting all sort of problems. I suggest you get back the old system if it’s even possible. Or upgrade Photoshop.

Thank you for answering, but I have already done that. Photoshop workes okay now, except from the Type tool, and when I am closing the program I have to use a forced shut down.

Have you tried resetting Photoshop preferences

To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop
