Missing Lasso Tool and Healing Brush doesn't work as it should

My photoshop updated recently and now I no longer have the lasso tool. I also go to use the spot healing tool brush and it asks me to alt-click on an area.  Can't I just brush on an object I want to remove and it removes it?

    In case the Lasso Tool should really be hidden check Edit > Toolbar.

    I also go to use the spot healing tool brush and it asks me to alt-click on an area.

    Because it sounds like you are not really using the Spot Healing Brush Tool, but maybe the Healing Brush Tool?

    Hi Gerim:

    Glad you fixed the issue.

    As heads up, Photoshop changes which tools it displays based on the workspace you are using. Essentials—and custom workspaces based on Essentials—default to displaying all tools. The other workspaces will hide tools that don't necessarily go with that workflow. If you change workspaces later, this may happen again.

    And as c.pfaffenbichler indicated, the Healing Brush and Spot Healing Brush look very similar—but the Healing Brush requires you to set a sampling point while the Spot Healing Brush does not.

      Hello, thank you for getting back to me. I was able to retrieve the lasso tool by resetting my tools. This also corrected the problem with the healing brush.
