Hi!
I am painting in symmetry mode and want to use the mixer brush. On the Adobe page about symmetry mode it says the mixer brush is one of the options, along with the paintbrush, pencil and eraser, but when I switch from one of those tools over to the mixer brush I get the 'Symmetry is not supported with this tool. The symmetry path is hidden with unsupported tools.' I am not sure how to fix it so that I can use the mixer brush with symmetry, any thoughts?
Thank you in advance!

A mistake in the documentation. Maybe adobe intended Symmetry for the Mixer Brush, but it didn't make it into this release.
(photoshop 20.0 and 20.01)
As far as i know, only the Brush, Pencil and Eraser Tools have the Symmetry option.

Ah, that's too bad, I hope they add it in soon. I guess until then, going back over to mix the parts separately does lend a more hand-painted look to the project...
Thank you so much for the quick reply!

Symmetry is quite addictive, and so much fun, and there are some hidden features. Our regular poster davescm took Symmetry up a notch or two, and talked about in one of our Tech Wednesday sessions. I'm not entirely sure if they are OK for general release, but I think as long as there is not an NDA attached to the episode, it should OK. Dave will be along shortly, and if he thinks it OK, will share the link.
Meanwhile, here is something Dave made with Brush Symmetry.

Hi
I have no issue with that Tech Wednesday demo being shared - there was nothing in it under NDA. However I just checked and there is no mp4 link - just an Adobe Connect recording - which requires the connection to Adobe connect. So I'm not sure whether that is shareable or not.
The previously hidden features of Mandala and Radial symmetry are now available directly from the symmetry menu in Version 20 (CC2019)
Polly if you are enjoing paint symmetry try it with multiple paths - that is how I created the bird wings above.
So a single brush stroke with this multiple path set as the symmetry path:
Results in this:
You can see one or two other symmetry images here:

Dave I did wonder about the Connect aspect. It would be a pity if you couldn't access the information without an orange badge.

I agree Trevor.
Polly , if you are interested in that recording drop me a PM and I'll give you the link to try. You can let me know if that is viewable to you. If it is I'll put it in the forum post.

Hi
Polly tried the link I sent via PM and it does work. She had to download the Adobe Connect app given by following the link, then she could view it. It does not have the conversations that go on in the chat pod recorded but the main demo is there. I've linked it below for anyone interested.

That is very cool Dave. It was way too good a tutorial not to have a wider audience.

Agree, and thanks for the reminder that I need to rewatch that one, Trevor.
