I'm looking for a good tutorial for converting PSD files in to HTML emails. I know the basic steps such as slicing up the document, how to optimize the images, save as an HTML file and images but after that it gets fuzzy. I'm struggling with how to have text blocks in photoshop show up as text rather than be an image in the HTML.
I've searched on Lynda.com, YouTube, and quite a few other sources but can't seem to find anything that goes over it in depth. I'm a novice when it comes to HTML (trying to increase my knowledge everyday) so please provide any answers as dulled down as possible.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Photoshop isn't a web editor. When you save for web all the text will be rasterized and treated like a picture element.
If you - for example - want to create an email template you will have to use the text functions of your email program.

Right, but in the wonderful world of Marketing and Advertising Agencies, a majority of agencies will build the template in Photoshop, slice the PSD file, export the HTML & Images, re-assemble and clean the code in Dreamweaver, then export one HTML file with all the information.
Building an e-mail entirely in a program like Mailchimp or other free services is not only limiting but not really a best practice. Even with Eloqua it can be limiting.
Thank you for your response though.

There are numerous discussions surrounding this topic on the Dreamweaver Forum that will help you with the HTML side of things but depending on how the design is, you might need to reconsider it's structure and layout.

Try running a search for "HTML email" on the Dreamweaver side and see if it helps you.
