Not surprised. Intel graphics cards are horrible. Even if the have the proper requirements for PS, the card needs to send that info to PS via a sniffer in PS. For some reason Intel cards don't do this well, and PS cuts off opengl processing. Sometimes this has to do with power requirements. If you're on battery power, try plugging the charger in.

Thanks, Chuck. I did read somewhere that Intel's integrated graphics were not up to the job although my HD 4000 which isn't even CC 2019  approved, does allow OpenCL. (Mid-2012 Macbook Pro).

Integrated cards generally don't support advanced features in Photoshop. Get a dedicated graphics card with dedicated VRAM.

Gene, I had a SP3, and half the time it worked and the other times - not so much. I just noticed that it worked better plugged in. It has since died: battery - too hard and expensive to replace, so I broke it open and just took out the HD. I will never buy either an Intel graphics card or a integrated switchable card! The switchable card have to have the drivers updated by the computer maker and not the card maker.

These two documents may help. You must get your latest drivers from the GPU vendor, not Windows Update.
