Opening Canon 80D RAW files with CS3

I have just purchased the Canon 80D and found out that Photoshop CS3 can't open the .CR2 RAW files.  The installed version of Adobe Camera Raw is 4.0.

Can CS3 be updated to open these files, or do I have to install a newer version of Photoshop?

Simply answer is no, you need Camera Raw version 9.5

You could use the DNG Converter

Hi. I need some help here.

I am using Canon 80D, a few months back, I was able to open the CR2 file using photoshop.

Recently, I have tried to open CR2 file using photoshop again but it turns out that a new window will pop up under the name "Camera Raw 11.2.1"

I am using Photoshop CC 2019 and I am subscribed to Adobe by paying a monthly subscription fee.

Can you please help to advice if I am able to open the CR2 file directly instead of having to convert it to DNG first?

You can download the latest Adobe DNG converter.  The create DNG files for your CR2 files the process the DNG File for your CR2 RAW files with CS3 Adobe Camera RAW.    Canon 80D CR2 files requires ACR version 9.5
