Opening images

I just installed Photoshop, when I try to drag and drop an image I get the error "Could not complete your request because of a program error, if I try to use select one from my computer it does nothing.

Yes it opens in the windows photo viewer and it's not large only 220 KB and I just downloaded it off the internet

Try a Save As in the Photo Viewer with a new name and see if that works.

We need a little more information:

What type of image?
Where are you dragging from?
Where are you dragging to?
When did this start?
Is there an error number?
Can you clarify what you mean by "use select one from my computer it does nothing"? What are your steps?

It's a .jpg, I'm dragging from my files on my computer, it started right after I dowloaded it, first time using it, there was no error # and right under where it says drag and drop, it has a link to select an image in blue

I tried it both ways and the dragging to anywhere got the same dialog box with the error in my original post, the 2nd way it did nothing

Maybe another volunteer will have an idea — it's working for me on a Mac.

For testing purposes, though, can you open the JPEG with the Open button on the Home Screen?
