Hello,

I noticed the same behavior, especially with scenes including reflection or shining metallic textures.

The legacy compositiong has no effect.

I also tried to create simple 3D objects (cubic) with metallic texture in order to check surface reflexions and it seems not to work (texture are not reflecting anything).

Regards,

Roland

Hi

It's the GPU preview that is broken - showing reversed lighting on the infinite light  - light where it should be in shadow and dark where it should be light.

Hitting Render and ray tracing the scene comes out correct - complete with reflections of lights and other objects

I've raised a bug report here - you may wish to add your own comments and system details

Finally I have installed 20.0.7 version of Photoshop and it works well, waiting for an upgrade of 21 version.

The materials have changed in v21 to a PBR Metallic Roughness workflow - which is more aligned to most modern 3D apps. Whilst some scenes will transfer across OK , most will need some rework in order to display correctly.

In addition there are some bugs in the current version which result in a significant difference between the GPU preview and the final ray trace render.

In my view, the best bet is to keep CC2019 installed if you need to render an old file (both can be installed on the same PC). I do this, and for any any new 3D work I just use Blender 3D.

Ok, so thanks to everybody for the answers.

I have solved selecting Legacy compositing in the preferences, now photoshop reads all info file well.. and it works in the right way to.

So, thanks to Sahil.

An other option is to install two different versions of Photoshop, but I would to avoid that, to don't mess with..

Just to know to help someone, i'm working on mac osx 10.15.1 and photoshop 21.0.1

No, the problem is back.

i tryed to work on an other file, but it has the same setting changes.

At the first command, whatever it is, all the shapes get dark lights and it doesn't work well.

May be, is it a bug for the latest version?

Hi there,

Does it happen with every PSD file?

Could you please try enabling "Legacy compositing" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

Also, what version of Photoshop and the operating system you're working with?

Sahil

Adding elements:

Photoshop 21 is in trouble to open .obj files.

With all the .obj files have the same problem, dark scene and disable commands..
