Question

Photoshop acts strangely when using a VPN

For example. If I use Image Rotation>Flip Horizontally on a file expecting it to flip the image (incl applied smart filters/effects text etc.) it does. However when I use a VPN often the image and layers etc will flip but the smart effects won't.

Is this some kind of limiting of the software to prevent piracy? I couldn't find any documentation or warnings about using VPNs and it's extremely annoying to have to disable the VPN, and restart Photoshop to get it to work properly.

Not a rare case. I often encounter such problems when working too. Unfortunately, browsing and changing settings make little to no effect. The latest VPN version that I've found on this site works fine tho.

Hi there,

That does not sound right. Could you please let us know the exact version of Photoshop you're working on?
Also, what operating system are you using?
Are you facing a similar issue with any other app apart from Photoshop?

What kind of VPN are you using?

Regards,
Sahil

PS v20.0.4

Windows 10 Pro

ExpressVPN.

Illustrator and Indesign get very laggy when using it also.

The ExpressVPN app in conflicting with other applications. It doesn't seem like an issue with Adobe Apps. Have you tried getting in touch with the app manufacturer?
