Photoshop & other Adobe apps feel Sluggish on Windows 7

Since a number of days ago my Adobe programs are behaving strangely.

Photoshop is the worst affected, startup taking a couple of minutes. Using it is impossible since every action will result in extended freezes and severly lagging mouse movement.

InDesign is not affected regarding startup. It is working fine - except when pasting text into text frames or placing images there is a short delay not present before. Most severe: when a dialog box is called upon that lists all of my disks to choose a location to open from or save to, this causes a 10-15 seconds delay before the box is populated with my disks and workable.

Lightroom Classic and Bridge are seemingly running fine.

Up to date Creative Suite. Creative Suite programs installed on a dedicated recent 256 GB SSD. Disks are generally not filled up. I am still running Win 7 64 bit and my graphics card is not supported for hardware acceleration anymore. I have noticed last versions of Bridge especially demanding more RAM than before, but without the problems that now are appearing.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you are using? Did you start facing this issue after an update to Photoshop or to Windows?

You can try optimizing the preferences of Photoshop using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj
