photoshop CC 2018 will not launch mac os x 10.11.6

I just updated my CC 2017 suit to 2018. Indesign, Illustrator and the others launch fine. Photoshop does not launch at all. PS CC 2017 still launches. Should I uninstall and reinstall? if i do, will it only affect 2018? when i installed 2018 i selected to keep previous versions

for those who come upon this short thread, i have solved my PS launch problem.

Anti virus software.

at the very first launch of PS CC 2018 after the update/install, my anti virus software quarantined the adobecrashreporter file which PS apparently needs to continue launching so the app would stop launching.

so i shut off the anti virus, uninstalled PS, re-installed it, launched PS (which worked!!) then turned back on the anti virus software and now it all works
