Photoshop cpu official recommendation Intel only and No Ryzen?

Explorer ,
Nov 27, 2019 Nov 27, 2019

I was looking at the Photoshop Hardware recommendations at:
https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html#hardware-setup

It recomends only an Intel CPU. I am getting ready to build a new computer and it looks to me like the 3rd Gen Ryzen way outperforms what Intel has to offer. Any comments.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Adobe Community!

The new AMD Ryzen CPUs are a great choice for using Photoshop, for more information and benchmark results please have a look at this link and see if it helps: https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Photoshop-CPU-Roundup-AMD-Ryzen-3rd-Gen-AMD-Threadripper-2-Intel-9th-Gen-Intel-X-series-1529/

Good evening.
See this help.

Photoshop system requirements

There is a statement that it also supports AMD CPUs.
(Both are compatible in the code base)

The page you have seen is a help document on how to use Photoshop more comfortably.
Since it explained Windows and mac all at once, there would have been only an Intel processor description.
(In the last chapter, it is divided by OS, but the explanation part of hardware is common)
