Photoshop Crash when opening RAW files

Everytime I open a RAW file in Photoshop or Lightroom CC it crashes. I have updated Lightroom, Photoshop and Camera RAW to the latest to no effect. They all work fine on JPG images.

I fill in the Crash Report that pops up every time but I have never got an answer from Adobe

It's still most likely the video driver. Uncheck GPU in ACR Preferences and Lightroom Preferences.

GPU acceleration in ACR/Lr is mainly intended to speed up screen rendering with 4K and 5K displays. If you don't have that, you can just leave it unchecked.

Not sure how to access the GPU in ARC preferences but went to Edit/ preferences/ performance/ in both Photoshop and Lightroom and unticked the Graphics Processor box. However it did not make any difference even after restarting the computer and Photoshop still crashes on opening a RAW file.

I am running window 10 on a laptop with Photoshop CC

Thanks for the suggestion, any pointers how the access your suggestion if it is not what I did?
