Question

Photoshop does not remember my customised settings

Hello,

CC18 does not remember my tool settings.

It doesn't go back to default right away, but when I restart the program it does not remember.

For example; I untick some boxes in Brushes and have to do it again in my next session.

Sometimes the same thing happens with my Crop tool ...I change a preference that I want to be permanent, but it goes back to default.

Also my Color Space has changes back to default a few times.

Does anyone know what this is about ?

Many thanks in advance !

Lea

I thought brushes reset once you clicked onto another one and then back to the first one unless you saved your changes as a separate brush?

That's how it's always been for me.

It sound like you may  have File system permissions problems.  This seems to happen more on Mac than Windows.  Which ever OS you use find out where your Photoshop User ID preferences are stored.  Make sure you can read and write into that folder.

Hi Lea,

What OS version are you? [[

Your prefs are saved upon quitting the Adobe applicaiton. If you crash or force quite the prefs are nto saved. If your drive has permissions issues, then your prefs files cannot be saved.

Have you tried window >> workspace >> new workspace?

Not sure by what you mean colorspace default, maybe you mean you are referring to color settings/profiles?
