i purchased Photoshop Elements 4.0 a few years ago ... not allowing me to download on to my Laptop ... why not? !

Unfortunately photoshop elements 4 won't run on mac os x after snow leopard because pse 4 requires a mac with a PowerPC processor or Rosetta and you new mac has a Intel processor and no Rosetta.

So you would need a newer version of of photoshop elements like the current pse 15 that adobe sells.
