Question

Photoshop for iPad Pro

I’m confused. Should I wait for photoshop to be released this year included on the iPad pro or just get the iPad now since I already have a subscription to the photography package which includes photoshop cc? Everything I’ve read says it will be a full working version that will be installed but what happens to the cc version if so? And asking anything to either Apple or Adobe is senselessly. someone please let me know YOUR THOUGHTS. Thanks

People who signed up for the beta had it months ago in some cases. Apple ration iOS betas.

I think that’s not correct. No one has it yet. It’s not been released. A massive let down for iPad users as this was promised nearly a year ago.. Makes me wonder if it was some sort of ploy by apple and adobe.

    I’m sure it’s vaporware

I’m beginning to think PhotoShop on the iPad is vaporware as they seem to talk about it but don’t release even the beta of it and if it is coming in 2019 and no beta yet it isn’t coming out anytime soon and so I’m guessing it r isn’t coming out.

It is in beta, and will be released. I guess they have enough testers for now. As I mentioned above, I but it will come out around when Adobe MAX happens.

Adobe normally tries to release new software at Adobe MAX, later in the year. However, if they run into issues that may not happen. So everyone has to wait and see. I too would wait to get one until it's released, incase A newer iPad is released. And as stated previously, desktop PS is a completely different app, and will not run on the iPad, and will not be going away.

Personally, I am waiting, on the off chance that Apple releases a new and better iPad before Adobe releases Photoshop for the iPad.

Even then I won’t purchase on the first day — I’ll wait and read the reviews and make sure it’s stable. I am as excited as you are, just cautious.

It will not be a full Adobe desktop version of Photoshop CC.  That is not possible for IOS does not have all the requires support that Full Photoshop would need.  It will be a subset of the Mac OSX and Windows PC Photoshop Application.  Hopefully a better subset then a Ipad Pro Photoshop Elements.  I'm just hoping that Adobe come up with a UI the will  work well without requiring a iPad keyboard.   I  would think  Adobe then port that UI to the Photoshop PC version to support windows PC Tablet mode better. Photoshop UI is currently to hard to use without a keyboard for shortcuts.

That’s where you are wrong sir I know you posted this before the press conference. However Apple and Adobe did confirm full power of Abobe Photoshop on the iPad Pro only tweaks to make the Apple Pencil experience with Adobe Photoshop even better.

Adobe WILL NOT TELL YOU anything except what is already public: expect it sometime in 2019. They will not tell you the licensing/paying arrangement. To be honest they probably haven't decided yet. Remember that there are nearly 8 months until the end of 2019, even assuming it is on time.

No harm in getting it now so you can learn how to use the iPad (if you don't know).

You can use it with Photoshop Express in the meantime.

Adobe probably won't reveal their launch date and plans in advance.

So the current Lightroom cc and photoshop apps I subscribe to won’t work on the current iPad Pro? That in itself would answer my question. Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean with 'current Lightroom CC', but Lightroom CC for iOS works fine on the current iPad Pro.
