Photoshop - layer. Scale box not showing up

No clue why but now when I use PS, I no longer have a selection box around the layer I'm on.

Do you mean the bounding box when you use the move tool ?

If so check "Show Transform Controls" in the options bar.

If not - then please describe further exactly what steps you are taking and what you are seeing (a screenshot would help)
