Photoshop texture pattern - black & white ?!

Community Beginner ,
Nov 23, 2016 Nov 23, 2016

Hi there,

If I add a Layer Style > Texture > Pattern,

the pattern is automatically converted to black & white.

How do I prevent this from happening?

Best regards,

Ed

Just found out myself:

I should use the Pattern Overlay option,

not the Texture option under the Bevel & Emboss

It shouldn't be.  You do realise how Texture works under Bevel & Emboss, providing a sort of bump map for B&E to work on?

Can you paste screen shots of what you are seeing, perhaps with the Layer Styles panel open?
