Please Help! Cursor Stuck on Crosshair..??

Whilst editing a photo using the clone stamp tool the cursor suddenly changed to a crosshair (I may well have inadvertently pressed a key on the keyboard).. now it wont change back no matter what I try. Every tool I select.. its a crosshair! Being able to see the size of the cursor (whether im using the brush tool or clone stamp etc etc) is absolutely critical for my work. Im in the middle of a job and cant continue because of the bloody crosshair!! I try resizing and the crosshair remains unchanged..

ive tried cursor preferences and nothing changes!?? ive tried shutting down and reopening PS and there it is .. mocking me!

PLEASE HELP..
