PS CC 2019 - Alt Key Issue - Mac

Hi all,

Yesterday, my clone stamp and healing brush stopped function properly.

As soon as I press the ALT key and select my spot, it will start acting like the move tool, even when I've released the mouse button.

I've reset tools and still not working. Mouse batteries are fresh. I tried installing the update and nothing changed.

I have no other layers in play but I appears like it has created a second layer that hovers above the background.

I have 3 images left to edit for this session due this weekend and this is driving me nuts haha!

Please help!

Thanks

Kat

Hey Kat, can you maybe upload a screenshot of the entire Photoshop screen when you're doing this?

And, you wrote that you've reset all the tools. Have you also tried resetting all Photoshop preferences by holding Cmd-Option-Shift (on MacOS) or Ctrl-Alt-Shift (on Windows) directly after starting the Photoshop app (so maybe you have to quit Photoshop first and then restart it)?

THANK YOU!! I feel silly now but I reset my preferences and it's functioning properly now. I really appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. Thanks Rob!
