Hello,
For the past couple of days, I have been working on an illustration in Photoshop. I've been very thorough in saving the file as I work. Today when I try to open the file, I keep getting the error message "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document."
I'm not sure what to do - I'm hoping the file isn't corrupted and there is some way to salvage it. Could anyone please provide some guidance? I would truly appreciate it.
Here's a Google Drive link to the actual file: nakia.psd - Google Drive
Also, here's a copy of a file I made and it seemed to have shrunken the file size: nakia2.psd - Google Drive
Thank you in advance.
Veronica
Hello Veronica,
The first file is really damaged. I can't even get a composite file holding down the Shift + Option key on the Mac while double-clicking to open it.
The second one is simply a blank Layer 1.
Your best bet is a previous version that has been backed up by the OS. Windows has File History and OSX has Time Machine.

At worst, you will have to do it over, but this time have a backup plan. Attach an external drive and let File History or Time Machine hold hourly versions of your file.
