Save for Web vs Export As in latest version?

Hi All,

I have been using save for web when exporting my photos for quite some time now. I have read many old posts on forums saying Save For Web is better due to the more control but it seems Export As now has many more options and I couldn't see any quality loss when using it.

Is still still better to use Save for Web in the latest version of Photoshop CC?

Not if you're trying to save PNG Slices with a transparent background, a bug causes it to not work anymore and some PNGs come out corrupted or as JPGs (!)

The last time I tried Export, the "embed profile" checkbox still does not stick. I have to check it every time. Sounds trivial, but it's such a stupid little thing that it's a dealbreaker for me. I stick with Save For Web until it works.

And while I'm at it, isn't it time to have this box checked by default? This is 2020, web browsers are color managed and we don't use dial-up modems anymore.
