Screen does not refresh when opening new document

Hi,

Sometimes when I open a new document in photoshop (and illustrator as well), the tab shows me the image is open, but I can't see the result. The last document that was open, stays in front and there is no way to make it appear again except for moving the entire photoshop window a little and move it back in place. Then it renders out the image correctly. Happens multiple times per day.

I had this problem with my old 2014 imac 27" and just recently bought a full spec i9 27" with all possible upgrades there are. (and 128gb owc ram)

I tried like... everything... :

  • Restarting program: helps for a little while
  • Restarting computer: helps for a little while
  • Removing preference files: no real change
  • Updating to latest version: no change
  • Remove setting for GPU accelleration; This does help, but OMG, let this not be the solution !!!!!! I can't work on processor alone in photoshop... that feels like going back to 1999....

I believe the problem is AMD gpu..... But there is no alternative for an Imac user...
nvidia has better integration in adobe suit I believe. I saw a post once about pc vs mac with photoshop and illustrator. PC is SOOOOOOO much more fluid... no delays in rendering, when you move something, it just flies! On a 5500 euro imac it feels like playing fortnite @10fps...

This is quite painfull paying so much just to see this kind of bug in my system. I really thought a new machine would not have same problem as my 2014 imac... but no...

PS. Yes, this computer had a FRESH install - no time-machine backup of any kind. Completely fresh.

Any ideas?
