Send layer to back no longer working in latest release

Explorer ,
Oct 23, 2018 Oct 23, 2018

I have recently updated to the latest release of Photoshop CC and can no longer send layers to back.

The shortcut shift + command +[ now does the opposite and sends the layer to the front. Additionally using the menus 'Layer > Arrange > Send To Back" also does the opposite to what it should.

The 'Bring To Front" shortcut and menu options work fine. The 'Send Backwards' shortcut and menu option also works fine.

I am using Mac High Sierra 10.13.6 and the latest version of Photoshop CC. Everything worked fine before updating, any suggestions to fix this?

I use this functionality a lot so it is quite frustrating.

Hi Diana:

I can't recreate this on Mojave/CC 2019.

You might try resetting preferences. Be sure to save custom presets, custom brushes, etc. first.

If you use the shortcut Shift + Option + Command + K (Mac) / Shift + Alt + Control + K (Win) or direct yourself to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts

Does the shortcut look the same in there? If not, it is possibly you're preferences have changed. Check the shortcuts set and see if the shortcut looks wrong to what is occurring. Screen Shot 2018-10-23 at 14.18.18.png

I also can't recreate it on Windows 10. Maybe it's a Mac High Sierra issue.

I'm not noticing this in 20 and 10.13.6 on my 2012 MBP. Command or shortcut.

I can't suggest anything at this point except toassign CC 2019 to AccessibilityScreen Shot 2018-10-15 at 9.29.27 PM.png.

That's interesting, gener7 . I did that the other day when prompted. Diana, let us know if that is the difference.

I forgot, Barb, is a Restart needed in order for that change to take hold?

I'm not sure, Gene. I did it a few days ago when prompted, but I don't think so.

Hi, i have tried this and it did not fix the issue.

I'm thinking that it is not to do with the command shortcut and more the menu item. As send to back does not work in the menu either.

So the shortcut probably works but the action that this is linked to does not work, if that makes sense.

'Layer > Arrange > Send To Back" - sends to the front instead.

LATEST

Same here: both "Layer > Arrange > Send To Back" and "Layer > Arrange > Bring To Front" actions actually send the selected layer to the front, no matter if called from the application menu or using a keyboard shortcut.

I'm on  MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1 (23G93)
Photoshop 25.12.0
