Something for the weekend - Part 132 - Hit the road !

Hi

There is nothing like the freedom of a nice open road, and this particular road crosses the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors in England. But the scene looks a bit too empty. Can you bring it to life?

The “rules”:

* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc

* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.

* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

To download the image below at 6720 x 4480 pixels, with an embedded ICC colour profile (sRGB), hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image – please use the Blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun.

It never rains but it pours: when I was finally able to post, it came twice, sorry.

There are a couple of old Ford Anglia's parked in Goathland, not far away from that spot, where Heartbeat was filmed.

Now the scene looks like Connecticut with the rock wall, Trevor, but is the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car or is the car driving on the wrong side of the road? Either way, I'm imagining it must be one of those new-fangled driver-less cars? 😊

Jane, I'm torn between this being a Tesla Retro vehicle that has moved to the other side of the road to avoid the Photographer, or the photographer stopped the car to take the picture.  I think the latter as the steering wheel suggests this is a right hand drive vehicle.  It all becomes apparent in the next frame.

Dean, unless you paid the license fee to Ged, or his alter ego Norman, for the right to be bizarre, you could be in a lot of trouble, 😉

Thanks in advance to Ged for giving me the right to be bizzare. 🙂

I've just noticed a couple of mistakes, one in particular that makes it even more weird. Can you spot it? 🙂

I love how you have done this Jane.  The chalk is almost perfectly overlaid on the road surface. Is it a straight blend mode like Lighten or screen, or is it Blend If?   The perspective is really good as well.

Thank you, Trevor, and yes, to Lighten.

LOL!  I can see an Area 51 warning poster and an electric fence working well with traffic lights in the middle of nowhere Norman.  Or from your point of view, a couple of Yellow Taxies.

The first thing that came to mind was deer crossing. Unfortunately, it’s a very common thing around here. In some cases, it can be deadly for the deer or the motorist.

I'm not sure People from outside the UK will understand the context, but I hope so because that was such a funny program.

Brilliant Trevor. The cobbled road is a clever touch.
