Spot healing brush strokes not disappearing

Question

Currently working on editing some professional headshots and the spot healing brush strokes aren't disappearing after I go over the selected area.  I'm using Adobe CC 2020 on a Macbook Pro (macOS Catalina v10.15.6).

Sometimes it's a graphics card error (try turning off or on Preferences>Performance>Use Graphics Card Processor.

If that doesn't work - know I've seen it too. Often it's because I'm working on top of an adjustment layer. Try moving your layer below that adjustment (if you're working on multiple layers). I have also found that it works way better if I make my original layers a smart object, THEN do the spot healing on a layer above that...
