Question

Stop messing with our workflow

In recent updates, you have changed hotkeys and other workflow changes such as "CTRL + ALT + Z" and how the transform tool behaves.  These are not improvements.  They are impediments which throw a wrench in our workflow.  It feels many times, that Adobe doesn't understand their customers.  Meaning, this isn't a toy for many of us... it's one of our primary tools for our professions.  When you make changes which alter our workflow in any way, especially hotkeys or tool behaviors, it cost us time.  Which, cost us money.

Please, stop making "improvements" to decades old workflows for the sake of "improving" things.  Leave it to the user to change their hotkeys to what they wish and do not force changes through updates.

gabrielh11345323  How do you cope with new feature updates?  Do you ignore them, or try to incorporate them into your workflow?  How did you get on when the Crop tool behaviour changed in (I think) CS6, and do you think you'd like to go back to the old way now?  Yes, it is initially annoying to have to learn new tools and shortcuts, but it really doesn't take long, and there is usually a good reason for changes.   I routinely change a lot of the shortcuts anyway, because I like to use single key shortcuts using the programmable G-keys on gaming keyboards.  By heck, they are a huge time saver.

I will say that of all the changes we have seen in recent updates, Free Transform has been the most difficult to get to grips with, because it is inconsistent.   You can't commit it to muscle memory, because you have to stop and think about is it a raster or shape layer, or is a type layer or workpath.  I think I probably make at least one mistake a day with this, and it's been a while since the changes were introduced.

Hi

This is a user forum and you're not really addressing Adobe here, this is more likely a better place to post your grievance

You can revert the shortcut

and also revert the way the transform works

excellent... however, this isn't helpful for the transform tool changes such as it's behavior when using shift.... which my coworker just came across another issue as I am responding to this... holding alt then clicking anywhere to change the anchor points, not working anymore.

I'll post to that other location later... as far as not addressing adobe here.. maybe they should "step over" here and see what their customers are saying about these changes.

Why do people keep referring to a »transform(ation) tool« that does not exist in Photoshop?

How do I turn off the new proportional scaling by default behavior while transforming layers?

The change was apparently a reaction to feature requests. (edited)
