Text tool crashes Photoshop:(

New Here ,
Feb 27, 2020 Feb 27, 2020

For some reason Photoshop is now crashing when I try to use the text tool. Worked fine until today. I'm using iMac with latest OS - Catalina 10.15.3. I've used the Mac Font manager to delete any fonts it didn't like and still PS is crashing each and every time I try to type some text... Anyone got a solution or is it a new bug?

Which version of Photoshop?

Have you tried resetting your Photoshop Preferences?

Mine too - just started last week - arouind 26 Feb. I've unistalled, checked fonts using Mac OS fontbook and deleted any weird fonts it didn't like. I've reset preferences... It's damn annoying when you rely on PS for work.

I actaully just got this fixed. The problem was that some of my fonts were corrupted. Try removing problem fonts as follows:

  1. Choose Applications > Font Book.
  2. Choose All Fonts in the Collection column.
  3. Choose File > Validate Font.
  4. Delete the damaged or duplicate fonts.

That might fix the problem and perhaps some other font-related problems as well.
