Urgent! photoshop cc 2018 spinning wheel when using brushes

1.  Urgent, working on a big project with many layers.

Mac OS 10.13.1 High Sierra,  Photoshop CC 2018  both downloaded to iMac recently.

Problem occurs when file gets large, currently working in a 655 meg file for print.

When using Stamp or Brush tool - paint with tool and see a spinning wheel as PS processes the stroke.

Smoothing (and all other options) are checked off in brush palette window.  Brush will slow more when smoothing is checked.

I have gone into User > Library > Application Support > Preferences > Adobe PhotoshopCC 2018 Prefs.psp  and placed on desktop.

Restart computer with PS generating a new one and problem is still there.

Have recently used Disk Utility app to run First Aid as well.

This issue is new since I installed updated OS and PSCC 2018.

All was well before with the same settings as below.

Have 3200 Ram, PS Performance is at 70%, Advanced Graphics Processor set to Normal.

Have Desktop Scratch Disk 500 gig.

2.  Not a biggie, just an annoyance.

I cannot change the default version of PS to PSCC 2018.

Using Cmd. i to get info window on any psd file.

"Open with" is stuck on CS5 (which is loaded in computer).

after changing to PSCC 2018 and clicking "change all" and then "continue"

"Open with" goes back to CS5.

Must use Control key to open psd file from icon.

Once PSCC 2018 is open, any psd file will open in 2018 without having to use the Control key.

Apple says its Adobe issue.

Much appreciation to anyone that can help.  I'm under the gun.

This solves the problem with the disappearing cursor and the charging wheel.

    but.

creates a jamming problem, completely blocks cursor scaling!

photoshop icon locks when you switch programs!

    lack of adobe professionalism.

    You can not work smoothly!

This solved the problem - thank you!

This started happening immediately after I installed OS Mojave. Prior to that I did not experience this issue on High Sierra.

Now I can't use any brush or stamp without losing the ability to see where I'm brushing.

I just updated my Wacom drivers to no effect.

You should never upgrade your application or OS in the middle of an important job.

    Hi there,

First of all a lot depends on your machine specs.
Told that, be sure your file size is not to big.

Let's say you are working on a 12.000 x 12.000 pixels, it's more than normal you will be experiencing this.
I work in advertising and I often manage project printed in the airports for a final size of 21 meters wide.

Working in Photoshop for print, means to optimize your file settings accordingly to the project.

    Example:
If you have to print an A4 file, you can work in full size 1:1 scale

If you have to work on a 21x4 meters big file you have to work in 1:10 scale

If you are able to tell us more about your document size etc it could help to find the right answer.
But in this case, from the little I see, your working area is bigger around 10K or more.

    Let me know please,
    Martin

Did something change with a recent update? It's never been like this for me until recently. I'm using a SSD drive, 16GB RAM, i7, 5K iMac.

Just editing jpeg photos, roughly 5760x3840 in size.

The loading wheel happens anytime I use a brush of any sort, such as brush, eraser, healer, stamp. Once I click down and start to drag the brush, after about 1-2 seconds it goes from the circle brush to a loading wheel. As I mentioned, it still works correctly, I'm just not able to see my circle to know my boundaries.

For what I do, it's not the worst thing, I can manage, but it is annoying.

    What are you experiencing?

When using brush or eraser etc, stroking for more than 2 seconds the circle or cursor turn into loading icon. Its annoying because you cant see the diameter of the brush unless you release the left mouse button.
