Question

Wacom pen is double clicking everything sort of

So I have Photoshop CS6 and I noticed that when I try to open the toolbar or brush menu it immediately closes, as if someone clicked it again to close it back up. I also noticed that when I press the undo button (mapped onto one of my Wacom pen buttons) it undos the last stroke of paint but at the same time it puts down a new blotch of paint where I hit the undo button on the canvas. It's as if every gesture with my Wacom pen also simultaneously yields a typical "click" or "touch." Consequently, even pressing a button such as "undo" on my pen also simultaneously makes the pen click and produce paint. What the hell is going on? I noticed this was happening in CS5 too.

Not sure if you ever found a solution but I get a similar problem with my wacom unless I have "UseSystemStylus 0" saved in a PSUserConfig.txt file in the preferences folder. It seems to fix the probles I have. (I also have 'double tap speed' set to 'off' in wacom prefs).

"UseSystemStylus 0" saved in a PSUserConfig.txt file in the preferences folder tells Photoshop not the use Windows INK  it will then use WinTab API.  You also must to configured your Wacom  device not to use  Windows INK by not checking it in  Photoshop Pen Mapping.

Do not do this with Photoshop 21.1 +.  Adobe broke Photoshop WinTab support in the 21.1 update.  You should use Windows INK with Photoshop 2.1 and newer.

CS6 does not have Windows INK support you must configure your Wacom device not to use window INK by un-checking use Windows INK in Wacom application preferences for Photoshop Pen mapping.

The weird thing is that this only happens once I've been painting for thirty seconds or more. And if I leave Photoshop alone for five minutes and return, it allows me to paint normally for another thirty seconds before it becomes all buggy again.

In your Photoshop Wacom Configuration try turning off Tio Double Click Distance
