This is really annoying. For example
I can't assign CMD + 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 etc.. key combination for something. It says
"It is used in Channels Panel"
Is it really so important to reserve those key combinations for Channels and limit the users? Seriously how many people use Channels panels with key combination...
This kills all my productivity. Because I am using all those key combinations in Illustrator to Open different Panels. Why I am allowed to do this in Illustrator but not in Photoshop? Common guys.
By the way please don't tell me to use FN keys. Macbooks have not simple Function keys. it is also another annoying design decision.

Seriously?

This actually touches on what I consider a real issue, namely the somewhat haphazard way in which keyboard shortcut customization is limited in Photoshop.
Some keyboard shortcuts are non-editable and cannot be used on certain non-englich keyboards, dialog settings formerly available via shortcut aren’t anymore and one cannot set alternative ones (in the Selective Color-dialog), …
But this is a user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
