Does any one know how to open XMP files? Fine for saving Meta data but what if you want to go back to a file later to recal what you entered? Just a refresh I suppose but certainly handy to know how if any one out there knows, I'd appreciate it!!

Thanks.

    One easy way is to use Bridge, select the Raw file then File - Info and select either Advanced or Raw Data tab.

    xmp files are text files that can be viewed in ascii editors and programs that will open text files.  WordPad that comes with windows will do this.  Here's a example - first few lines of xmp file content for an image file:

    <x:xmpmeta xmlns:x="adobe:ns:meta/" x:xmptk="Adobe XMP Core 5.5-c002 1.148022, 2012/07/15-18:06:45    ">

    I’m not sure I understand.

    If you open the RAW in Camera Raw it should use the XMP-file.

    Otherwise have you tried simply opening it with a text editor (on a Mac TextEdit for example)?
