2020.1 Premiere Elements DVD Support

2020.1 does not write to DVD's directly but still creates and ISO file. Tech support solution is to burn the ISO file with another burner software.

Depends on what operating system you're using and what drivers you have installed for your disc drive. I don't see a question in your post, are you looking for a solution? Have you gone to your computer manufacturer's site (HP, Compaq, Dell),, looked up your computer model and downloaded their drivers for your drive?

Yes have done all that. I checked for firmware updates for the drive. That is current. Adobe tech said Elements Premiere supports certain drives, but would not say what drive.  He then suggested for me to get another program to burn the ISO file that Adobe creates. I installed yesterday a new drive with same results. Guess I picked one that they do not support.

I know it's no consolation, but I've been editing on this program since 2004 on at least half a dozen computers and I've never had this problem. Occasionally, when a Windows Update would knock things out, I'd go to the HP web site and reinstall the original disc drive drivers and it would run again.

Do you have other software that may be monopolizing the drive? Nero was once notorious for doing this.

All that said, if you don't mind outputting your videos as ISO files and then using third-party software for burning your DVD from that (It's actually my preferred way to work, since it gives me a copy of the disc files to store on my hard drive), here's how:

I have several Adobe suites and had E Premiere 12 that ran great. I upgraded to 2020.1.  Just wanted a fast way to produce a captured VHS tape to produce DVD. Doing this as a favor of an elderly neighbor for a cup of coffee. Premiere CS does not capture.

No, I returned the software. If a product can not create a DVD when a previous version worked great, then I look for another source.

No, the DVD drive was not occupied by another source. 3 drives did not work with the latest drives and BIOS updates. I purchased two new drives to make sure it was not the drive. Nero wrote and created useable media, but required another software to capture. I installed Cyberlink last night and it will capture and burn a DVD, but just a small video sample.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions.
