I have full version of Adobe Premiere Elements 2024. GPU acceleration if enabled, still I can see the yellow line above my first clip just after importing it and placing on the timeline. I don't understand why.
I have also APE2021 and there is no yellow line (no need to render) above the same clip.
Is there any issue with APE2024 GPU Acceleration?
Here it is video showing that problem: https://youtu.be/dahkr1rxZ40
When is a search feature going to be added to the KBSC, so we can find shortcuts easily. As of now it's a big PITA.

In versions 2023 and 2024 of Premiere Elements you will see a yellow line even if the video is compatible with the program.
An orange line indicates a need to render a clip.

Something strange is going on here. In APE2021, when I press Enter, it starts to play the clip, whereas in APE2024 it starts to render it and then plays it. Why is it rendering in APE2024 if the video in compatibilie with the current project settings?

Pressing Enter in any version of the program will render your timeline.

It will render, only if necessary. And this is my point!
I have selected option: ‘Play work area after rendering previews’
In APE2021, when the video is compatible with the project settings there is no need to render, and video is played just after pressing Enter.
In APE2024 it renders the video after pressing Enter even if it is compatible with the project setting. I don’t understand why.
And I still don’t understand the meaning of the yellow line above the video clip which is compatible with the project settings

Enter means render workarea.
Deselect workarea and it will not render after pressing Enter: use spacebar instead.

Only when rendering is necessery. In APE2021 I can put videos which have different resolutions and APE will play them after pressing ENTER without rendering. This is the purpose of GPU acceleration, accorgind to Adobe: GPU accelerated rendering (adobe.com)
The problem here is that APE2024 is rendering entire timeline even it is not necessary.

There is some serious problem here.
In Adobe Premiere Elements 2024, when I press Enter it starts to render EVERYTHING even if the video is compatible with the project settings and there are no effects applied. Even if GPU acceleration is Enabled. For example,
If I import two clips, 1) 10min long and 2) 10sec long. And then if I apply some effect to the short clip 2 and press ENTER, APE2024 will render both clips which obviously takes a lot if time and it is unnecessary.
If I do the same thing in APE2021, only clip number 2 will be rendered as the effect has been only applied to that clip. Clips 1 doesn’t require rendering when it is compatible with project settings.
Even if it were not compatible with project settings, then APE shouldn’t render it when GPU acceleration is enabled. This is what official adobe advert says:

This functionality was added in PRE2022. Yellow line means that rendering is not required but user can still render if they want to. You will get an orange line if you apply a non-GPU effect. Orange line means that rendering is required.

Adding in and outpoint on the timeline is not very intuitive ALt+[/]

I don’t understand why you changed something which was good. Now, it renders EVERYTHINGS even though it is not necessary.
I just give you example:
In APE2021 when I add 2h video and then apply some effect just to 1min of that video it will render only that 1min part. This is sensible and expected.
In APE2024 when I add 2h video and then apply some effect just to 1min of that video it will render EVERYTHING even though rendering of 1h 59min is not necessary And I don’t have a choice.
I don’t understand why you introduced that change. GPU acceleration in APE is to avoid unnecessary rendering.

You do have a choice not to render the entire timeline.
Use in and outpoint over those clips, then hit Render.
Unfortunately, You cannot select a few clips and hit a shortcut for in and out point over those clips.
For just playing the timeline, hit the Spacebar.

I don’t understand logic behind that new solution. Before, only parts which required rendering were rendered which is sensible.
Now everything is rendered even if this is not necessary and you can't really change it. They introduced GPU acceleration so that you don't have to render a timeline to get smooth playback and then they 'force' you to render everyting even is only very small part of the project needs rendering. Very strange.
I’m not going to use in and outpoint for every transition or effect in my project just to render only that part. It doesn’t make any sense.
