Does anyone know if AMD GPU's will be supported in the windows version of PE 2021? After all the problems with licencing (ended up in Adobe commercial circuit, rather than support 😞 ) I decided due to a number of non finished PE projects to upgrade to PE 2021. Only now to discover in hindside that my GPu is not supported. Yes, ignorant and naief on my end. Tips how to improve my PE performance without upgrading GPU are welcome

No one on this forum knows or can say what will come in the next version of the program. But here's the list of supported devices as it stands now.

For what it's worth, it's not a great loss if your GPU isn't supported. Adobe added some support for graphics cards in version 2021, but they only affect how your timeline previews. You don't get a big boost in performance or faster production. So the program is by no means crippled if your GPU isn't supported. It still works just fine.
My tutorial may fill in some details.

Thank you Steve, not what I like to hear, but it is what it is. Now on your comment of performance; my current work seems more sluggisch and of poor(er) quality then in PE 15. The whole feel is a down great, any idea if that is due to my settings?

I'm sure Steve will reply. For me, PrE performance is very good and as it has ever been. (I shoot and edit in 4K on a better than average laptop.)
Performance seems to depend on a variety of issues:
-Source footage should be a common standard
-Project settings and how you make them
-Timeline render quality setting on the General Preferences page
-Default audio input on the Audio Hardware Preferences page should be at "No Input".
-Output will probably be better if settings match the source and project.
Fritsz, how do you have yours set up?

I agree with Bill. There are a number of factors to consider, so make sure you're comparing apples to apples.
Also, it sounds like you may be opening projects that were created in an older version of Premiere Elements in version 2021 -- which we always recommend against. I don't know which version of Premiere Elements you started your project it, but the program has never been fully backwards compatible. And opening an older project in a newer version of the program can lead to issues including corruption of the project file.
So if you want to compare performance, start with a new project in each version of the program, using the same video clips.

Hi,
My biggest issue is the absence of the preview, even after rendering. It takes ages to appear. Don't know what causes that. I am that guy of the past days with PE15 issues, ending up in a Adobe-commercial-sticky-spiderweb. I am so fat up. You may say that the Radeon absence has no influence, I am convinced that PE15 (or system) utilized the 4gb of the GPu.
@bill, my system is more than adequate with i7/16Gb/RX550/4Gb/i630

If I were this unhappy I'd contact Adobe Customer Care via chat and ask for a refund while I'm still in the 30-day grace period.
